Surprise, Surprise

Thursday when I was leaving work The boy said something about going out & having some drinks. I can't drink right now because of one of the medications I am on, but I told him I would go & hang out if he wanted. He called me when he got off work, and told me he was just going to to by a 6 pack and go home. If U wanted to come over I could. I told him I was just going to stay home. U was already snuggled up on the couch with the dogs and all. He was ok with that and said something about doing something over the weekend. I said something about going out to dinner since I had a gift card I had to use up. I told him he should bring some clothes to change in to after work.

Well on Friday he didn't bring clothes. I informed him I wanted to go out on date. When I left work he didn't say anything to me about dinner so I if course jumped to the conclusion that he had forgotten.

To my surprise he actually called me. He remembered about dinner. He had a bad day and didn't want to go out for dinner. For those of you who don't know the history here in the past he just wouldn't have called me. But he offered to take me out to dinner on Saturday! And he came over to hang out. We watched movies and lazed around & tonight we are going out on a date!

Auto Workers

Ok, so I don't usually express my opinions about "Issues", but I have to say, that I was all for a bailout for the auto industry. I know, I know 34 Million dollars is a lot, and I did think maybe not that amount, but some help would be apporirate. I mean we are talking about millions of people that would be affected by this. Not just the big 3 plants, but all the part supplies, the dealerships, all that. There is a lot that goes into the failure of these 3 companies. And yes even though I work and live in Nebraska, the economic ripples will affect me.

That being said I was extremely irrrated with the UAW's. The deal the house and senate put together for these companies failed because the UAW's wouldn't agree to take a pay cut. Hello maybe it's just me, but wouldn't it be better to take a pay cut, and oh I don't know keep your job, then to not a take a pay cut, and have the companies close. Maybe that's just me, but give me a break.

I have actually being following this story a little, and from what I have read and understand, the big 3 pay their works more in benefits, and wages, then the foreign companies. They have a pool where people who get laid off can go and still get paid to do nothing, until they find a new job. Hello where do I sign up for that. The CEO's took their do, and have taken pay cuts, and incentive cuts, and sold their jets, and all the extra's isn't it up to the workers to do their part to save their jobs? Yes a lot of this has to do with CEO's mishandling of business matters, but still come on isn't losing a little pay better then losing your job all together?

I don't want to bear the extra cost of these people being unemployed, but maybe they need to see that it's not all about them. Take a little lose, and help out the rest of us a little. Don't be so greedy. See the big picture. Please.

So...

We have this fuel tank to fuel our trucks with. It is something new we have been trying. In the past we had someone come every night and fill our trucks, and we decided we didn't need all our trucks filled every night.

We have a log for the guys to fill out everytime they fuel up. This morning I was up front waiting on something so I thought I would just be nice and add up the usage for last week. Well it doesn't exactly balance. Ok that is an understatement. We started with 23663 didn't receive any fuel, used 166.5, and ended up with 23884. Um no...

So I walked made a couple of comments in fun, and this guy who can't be bothered to show, or follow any of the rules that everyone else has to follow, decides that he is gone take a look at it. So I said, It's not your job. It's Deb job, it's Todd jobs, It's my job, it's not yours. Your job is to work on the plant, and trucks, and what ever else may come up, but not this.

He had the nerve to come back to my office after this, and say he just likes to do fun stuff like that, and there was no need for me to get upset. Ok first off. I didn't get upset with you, but if you want me to be keep treating me, like a girl. I'm independent, strong, and confident female, don't pataronize me, don't make me feel like all I'm good for is for the girlie things. Doesn't fly with me. That pisses me off even more. I can handle myself. Oh and by the way. I wasn't being a bitch. Trust me YOU will KNOW when I am being a bitch. I was taught well by the other women in my family, and there isn't one person here except Toby that has seen the true bitchness I can bring out when needed, so back off.

I hate it when a female speaks the truth, and tries to stand up to someone, she is automatically labeled a bitch. Really, hmm give me a break.. If guys would open their mouths and be honest we wouldn't have to do it, but most guys I know can't and won't open their mouths and be honest when they should. So don't put that on me because I care, and want to make a difference. And make things better. That does NOT make me a bitch. It makes me honest, and it makes me a human. Just because I might disagree with you doesn't make me a bitch either. Just because I have an opionion doesn't make me a bitch either.

No after reading this post, yes I could probably be called a bitch, but that is because someone made me this way today. In this moment. Big difference.

Christmas time is Here

I am warning all of you that I am busting out the Christmas music today. I have been waiting until after Thanksgiving to do this, and am so so excited for today.

I love the holidays. I love that feeling of magic in the air. I always try to do things to make it special. Like decorating a little. My office too. The boys laugh at my, but I don't care. My sister and I and her kids make Christmas cookies. And I always watch my two favorite Christmas movies. A Charlie Brown Christmas, and Elf.

OH the magic is in the air can you feel it?
