Hump Day Question

Ok here is your question for the week (I am posting from my iPod to see how it works)

What is the all-time favorite piece of clothing you ever owned?

Have a wonderful and Thankful Holiday!!

So excited

When I left work last night I was thinking about all the things I still had to do for Thanksgiving, and it dawned on me that I am finally a grown up. I'm not married and I don't have kids so I didn't get those rites of passage, but I am hosting a family holiday tomorrow, so I am finally a grown up. What a proud day for me!!

So Tired of Boys....

I have had it up to HERE with boys. I work with them all day, and I am tired of them. They never say thank you. They only care about themselves. UGH....

So I work in an old feed mill that has been turned into our offices and shops and plant. It is old and drafty, and sucky. All winter we fight the cold and mice, and what ever comes our way. So this year I bought a draft dodger. It some thing that sits at the bottom of the door and keeps the draft out. Well today two of the biggest babies we have working here have told us we can't have it there someone might trip over it. GIVE ME A BREAK. Everyone walked over it all day yesterday and no one had a problem with it. How come you have a problem with it? One of these guys writes up his truck with a safety issue every day because it doesn't have a radio. NONE of the trucks have radios. If it bothers you that bad find a new job, or buy a portable radio to put in the truck.  The other guy is just an ass. For bosses day this year we bought a couple cheap sports things for the two bosses and had everyone sign them this guy refused. So no big surprise on him. So I have to deal with the cold all winter because these two guys are being jerks.

Yesterday I was talking about some purchases with our mechanic and Brandon (Toby's brother) stopped in me doorway and demanded I give him a Kit Kat. (I have a candy stash). I flipped out on him. First off you should never demand I give you anything that wasn't bought with company funds. This is my own personnel purchase, not something I have to share, just something I have shared. Second Never Never come in when I am talking business with someone and interrupt for candy. That is just rude. Granted we work in a laid back atomsphere, but that is just common sense. At least I thought it was. Apparently now.

We make birthday treats for the guys. MAKE THEM not buy them Money out of my pocket and time out of my personnel time to do something we don't have to do for these guys. We cook out for them in the summer. We make lunch for them the week before Christmas. I am so done. I am tired of this it's all about them. No one ever Thanks us for all the things we do. Deb and I don't ask for much, just a little respect, and a little lee way here and there. But apparently we can't get that.

That being said, Yesterday I was in a really bad mood because of this crap, and Toby saw this, so he called me on his way home and asked what I was going to do, so I told him I was going to sit home and pout. He said if I wanted to come over and pout at his house he would make me dinner to try and cheer me up. Which he did. Ok I helped a little. I can't help but be in the kitchen if someone else is out there. But it was still nice of him to do, even if I helped a little. He made meatloaf, and baked potatoes. He bought my favorite soda, even though it's not his. And then he let me have the big couch to lay on and watch the Packer game.

Holidays

I love the holidays. Starting in November for our annual Mall of America Trip and ending in January with our family Christmas.

My holidays aren't what ever expects. My Thanksgiving hardly ever happens on Thanksgiving, and my Christmas is usual not on Christmas. I do Christmas with my sister family here in Omaha sometime around Christmas, but since her and her ex used to work at the casinos and usually had to work on Christmas we celebrated on whichever days they had off. Which is fine by me it's the chance of getting together and celebrating with those you love that matters not the day that you celebrate on that matters. And then we have our Schuler Christmas in January. This is when we do Christmas with my mom and George, and my dad, and then all my mom's sisters. Oh what a full house that is.

Since I don't normally get a "family holiday" I informed my family last year that I wanted one with the whole family Mom, George, Carrin, Todd, and the kids, and Whit, and yes my best friend and her family. They have included me in their family functions for as long as I have known her, so this was my chance to return the favor. So I am so excited for next Thursday. I will have everyone at my house, where I will make the Turkey, and all the fixings, and we will have a real family holiday. I have been planning for this for a year now. Yes a year. I have everything planned out, and ready to go. I will love having all the kids under foot, and to watch them playing, and I'm sure fighting. And my mom and sister and Carey and I in the kitchen trying to set everything up. I am looking forward to the football, and the naps, and most of all the Pumpkin Pie!! OH the pumpkin pie. I look forward to Thanksgiving every year for the pumpkin pie. With lots and lots of Cool Whip.

And if all that weren't enough my mom's sisters and their families are coming down that weekend to celebrate Grandpa's 80th Birthday. (it's supposed to be a surprise so make sure you don't tell him). We are going to have an actual Schuler family Thanksgiving on Saturday, and then a little party for him after wards.. I love when we all get together. It is loud, and irrating, and frustrating, and so much fun. We are very opinonated women (we get that from Grandma Schuler thanks so much Grandma), but we always seem to pull things together and make it work, and have a great time!

I can't wait for next week. My insides are tingling already. Yeah me!!

So I have been pondering...

something since Tuesday. Toby called me and asked me to come over so we could talk on Tuesday. I wasn't sure exactly what he felt we needed to talk about. We had date, he didn't want me, I had finally been able to be just friends with him, without wanting more. We could hang out and enjoy each other's company with out there being anything romantic, or intimate between the two of us. I was fine with where we were at... Maybe he was having a bad time at work, and needed someone to talk to. I didn't really know.

So I went over there, to see what he wanted to talk about. At first we just hung out, and whatever then after a little while he told me he wanted to be boyfriend, girlfriend again. Whoa, what... back up here. I didn't know what was going on. I was a little confused. On the Thursday before I was talking to my sister about this whole Toby thing. She didn't think I was able to move on from him as long as I was friends with him. I told her that wasn't true. I knew we didn't have a future "together", and if someone else asked me out I would go with them. Toby was just a friend, to me and nothing more. Yes I stay at his house sometimes, but there was never any funny business going on. And I was dead set on this. So when he drop this bomb, I was totally blindsided. I thought about it for a minute, and told him that I had some concerns. First I was not sure I could trust him. He did some pretty rotten things in the past. Especially less then a year ago in January. I told him I wasn't ready to jump back into anything with him, until he could prove to me that, he wasn't going to pull that crap again. And I told him that if this is really what he wanted, and I decided that it was what I wanted that there would expectations there. No more of this "whatever Toby wants" crap. That yes it would be about the two of us, but that being with me includes my family. And my family functions. I was close with my family, and if he wanted to truly be with me he would have to be with my family.

So we talked a little more. I didn't really come to a decision at this point. I just left it at he was going to have to do some major sucking up to me, and all that jazz before I put my heart back into us.

So now it is Friday, and I have been thinking about this for 3 days now. And I am no closer to a decision then I was on Tuesday night. I know, I know, I know. My mom hates him for all the stuff he has done. My best friend isn't crazy about him. My sister isn't crazy about him. Everyone would be upset with me if I did take him back. He has done a lot of things to hurt me, and make me cry. But on the other hand, he gets me. He is one of my best friends. We have a good time with each other. We like to do a lot of the same things. He can be really sweet, when I least expect it. He's completely neurotic like me. But can I trust him not to hurt me again. Can I trust that he won't change his mind in 3 months, or 6 months. Will I ever be able to fall in love with him again? And yes I do love him as a friend, but I have not been in love with him for some time. Will my family and friends ever be able to accept him again, and if not can I live with that?
