Day 9...

So another day...

Today I went and had lunch with my Grandma Schuler. She had hip replacement surgery on April 9, so she has been in a rehabilation facility for a couple of weeks. We just ate in the cafeteria. The food was actually really good. We had breaded chicken, and potatoes. Then I we went to her room, and a nice man came to join us a little while later. I went to get milk shakes for all of us, but when I got back she had been whisked away to some more physical therapy.

She seems so happy being around all the ladies there. I know she doesn't want to be there. But I think for now it is a really good place for her. She has lots of big plans for when she gets out of there. I hope she sticks to them. Because she needs to have something to keep her going.

Now if Grandpa gets his new parts and starts feeling better, then life will be good again. If I find a job life will be great.

I have not heard anything back from the place I interviewed at yesterday. I did call this afternoon and didn't get a call back. Which could be for any number of reasons.

Tonight I am going to an outing at my neighbor/friend Danielle's church. I think it will be a lot of fun.

Tomorrow I leave to go up to Story City and do some dress shopping with my VFC (very favorite cousin) Deanna. I am not sure if I will come back Sunday or Monday. I did tell Gma that I would take pictures so she can see the dresses Deanna tries on.

I may be MIA for the next couple of days, but you can all bet that as soon as I hear anything about a job I will let you all know!!

Day 8...

Today is my 8th day with no work. This is a strange feeling. I have been working for a long time. No to not have a goal to met every day. Not to have to produce something every day. I don't know what to do with my self right now.

I did have a job interview today for an insurance agency. It has been a long time since I interviewed for a job. I have never really had to "look" for a job.

My first job at Kmart I got because my godmother worked there. Then two of their managers went to different places and asked me to come along. Then I transferred with those companies down to this area. To get into banking I was referred by a co-work and got the job based off of that referral. Then again my manager there presued me to go to Commercial Federal. When I left Commercial Federal I didn't have to look for the job at Complete.

It is a really weird feeling to be out looking for a job. It is damn scary.

I know I can do a lot of jobs. I know I am smart. And I think it really sucks that because I don't have a college degree a lot of employers won't even look at my resume. I know I could be the best one for some of these jobs. I have 12 years experience. 12 years!! in finance. That is a long time. I know my shit. My on the job experience makes me way better for some of the jobs out there then someone who just came out of college and doesn't know a thing about working in the really world. Sorry to tell you but a college degree doesn't mean you can do anything but study, and get answer right on test.

Now don't get me wrong all of you out there that have gone to college I know you are hard workers. I know you are proud of college degrees and you should be. It is a big accomplishment, and I am not trying to take away from what you have worked hard for. I know it has been my choice to not get a degree. I am complete aware of all of this. So please don't get all up in arms.

Ok I am stepping off of my soap box.

Tomorrow I am going to go eat lunch with Gma Schuler. Looking for more jobs. Not sure what else will be on the agenda. Friday I will go up and do some wedding dress shopping with Dee. And start all over again on Monday.

I hope this finds you all well. I hope you are all having a great week.

Day 4...

Day 4 is coming to close. It was a really good day.

I spent the day with my mom and my Aunt Natalie. I found two outfits to wear on interviews. With lots of help from both of them.

I am not really used to shopping for myself with other people. Usually I go shopping with my sister and sometimes my mom, but I always feel bad if I am shopping with them, and shopping in a store they aren't really in to. I feel like they get bored, and don't really shop. Today I didn't care. I had a need and I wasn't going to stop till I filled the need.

I am really excited about the two outfits I got. One is a brown skirt with a really cute top from The Limited. And the other is pair of grey slacks with a cream top.

After mom and I got back to Stratford, I met my father, and his sister Candy, and her husband Steve at Applebee's for dinner. OMG it was prom tonight and let me tell you. Prom hair styles have NOT changed in the 15 years since I have been in high school. And I am not against people carrying a little extra weight, but let me tell you girls, there is a way to look good with the extra weight and there is a way to make that extra weight look just like that extra weight. Some of the poor girls looked so silly in their pretty dresses. I felt bad for them.

The dinner went nice. Now I am back at Mom and George's hanging out watching the History channel. Tomorrow we are going to a pancake feed, and Jennifer and her girls are coming over for lunch. Then I think, but am not sure yet, I will head down to spend some time with Dave. (remember from yesterday he was being a butt head).

I think Dave is over being a butt head. I am not really sure. Right now he is out at a bachelor party for one of his friends. He kind of likes to be a butt head on purpose sometimes. It is just what he does. So I am not really sure what his deal is right now. Either way I will enjoy my time with Jennifer and the girls. If he still wants to be a butt head tomorrow I will stay here till Monday and head home then.

So I have not slept past 7:30 yet. And I have not taken a nap yet either. That might change tomorrow. I'll let you know.

Day 3...

Day 3 is drawing to a close. Today wasn't very exciting. Last night I went out to dinner with my mom. The food was so good. Oh yummy yummy. We went to the Brew Pub in Marshfield. Highly recommend it. I had a martini with dinner. And then we went down to the bowling alley to meet up with George. I had 2 drinks there. Well after the guys got done bowling we went to Selma's with them. I started drink mixers there. I had a few drinks there. Needless to say I didn't wake up too early this morning. I wasn't hung over, but I didn't want to get out of bed.

So today I did some online research into a few things. And lazed around with my puppy the rest of the time. My dad was supposed to call me when he got done with work so we could meet up for a little while. But it is now 10:38 and I still haven't heard from him.

So I went out for Friday night Fish Fry with mom and George, then we went to Rocky's. I always have to make sure I stop in to Rocky's when I am in town.

My BFF from high school met up with me and I hung out with her, while the old people went home.

Tomorrow I am going shopping with my mom and aunt Natalie. I need to get a suit for my first job interview.

Jon the owner of the company I used to work for, had a friend who asked him if he knew of anyone he would recommend for a job. So Jon talked to his friend about me, and the guy was really interested in talking to me. So Jon sent me a text with his friend's information in it. I called the guy, and I have an interview set up for Wednesday morning.

It is in a small insurance agency in Omaha. They have been in the business for 25 years. I would be a customer service rep. Which means I would answer the phones, and help customers that walk in the door. Also I would kind of do some of the day to day operational stuff in the office. Pretty much being my own boss and making sure everything is taken care of around the office.

It sounds interesting. It is something I have never done before. It would be a new challenge. I am not sure what the pay is. I will find out Wednesday.

I have to admit to all of you that I was hoping just a little bit to get a job a little closer to Dave. But right now he is being a butt head so maybe I don't want to get a job closer to him. I just told myself where ever I find a job is where I will go. So I guess there is still a chance.

Plus I am looking into going back to school. I am going to set up an appointment at the local university to see what kind of grants and scholarships might be available for me. If I can get some good help I will probably be a student again. God help me!!

So there is the daily update. Look for more tomorrow. Hope life is finding you all well!!!

Day 2....

Well today is the second day of unemployment. So far it has been a pretty boring experience. I have filed for unemployment. I started doing some research on possibly going back to school instead of going back to work. Mom and George said they have programs for workers to go back to school. That could be an interesting option. I am not sure what I would go to school for. Maybe an space traveler? Or a princess? Or a circus performer? Hmmm.... maybe I should stick with something I know a little better. Oh wait they don't give a degree in being a snot....

What should I go to school for if that is what I end up doing? I wanted to be a lawyer at one time. I am good with finance. I am good at details. I just don't know if that is what I want to do. I am good at it. But it isn't what I wake up every morning wanting to do. I like to bake. But I know I don't want to do that as a job.

I guess I have a lot of research to do. And a lot of choices to make. So for right now, I am going to load up my puppy and head in to Marshfield to see my Grandma Weinfurter, & my aunt Candy. Tonight I will go to dinner with my mom and get my drink on. And tomorrow is another day.
